Hold Ctrl + Win and talk.
Let go and clean text appears wherever you were typing, in any Windows app. Talkhawk's speech to text runs on your PC, so it's fast and your voice stays on your computer.
What you say
"Hey Sarah, can we move the meeting to Tuesday, no actually Wednesday, at three p m?"
What Talkhawk types
Hey Sarah, can we move the meeting to Wednesday at 3 p.m.?
Pasted into Slack a second or two after you let go.
Talk the way you think. Get text you'd send.
People speak about three times faster than they type. Talkhawk keeps up, and turns the way people really talk into writing.
Clean text, not a transcript
Polish removes the ums, keeps only your corrections ("Tuesday, no, Wednesday" becomes "Wednesday"), adds punctuation, and turns "first, second, third" into a list.
Command Mode
Select text in any app, hold Ctrl + Win + Alt and say what to do: "make this shorter", "more polite", "translate to Spanish". The selection is replaced with the result.
Hands-free for long thoughts
Add Space while you hold the shortcut and keep talking with your hands off the keyboard. Press the shortcut again to finish.
Snippets and your words
Say "my calendly" and your booking link appears. With Pro, teach it names, brands and jargon like kubectl so they're spelled your way.
Voice typing in any app
Slack, Gmail, Outlook, Word, Notion, VS Code, Cursor, ChatGPT: anywhere you can paste. With Pro, Talkhawk adapts the format to the app: casual in chat, paragraphs in email.
Speak one language, paste another
Recognition understands 25 European languages and detects which one you speak. Pro can write the result in another language.
Your voice stays on your PC
Talkhawk turns voice to text with an open speech model (NVIDIA Parakeet) that runs on your processor. A 24-second recording becomes text in about one second on a recent desktop processor, with no internet needed.
On your PC: your audio
Recording and speech recognition happen on your computer. Audio is never uploaded and never saved to disk.
On our server, with Pro: text only
Polish and Command Mode send the transcribed text to Talkhawk's server and the AI model it uses to rewrite it. Turn Polish off and nothing leaves your PC.
The privacy policy lists what is sent, who receives it and how long it is kept.

Questions
Does Talkhawk work offline?
Dictation does: recording and speech recognition run on your PC. Polish and Command Mode need an internet connection, and Talkhawk pastes your words as spoken when it can't reach the server.
Which apps does it work in?
Any app where you can paste with Ctrl + V. The one exception is a program running as administrator, because Windows doesn't let normal apps type into it.
Which languages does it understand?
25 European languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Ukrainian, Russian and Croatian. It detects the language you speak.
What does Talkhawk need from my PC?
Windows 11 on a 64-bit PC and a microphone. Speech recognition runs on the processor, no graphics card needed. The app uses about 750 MB of memory while it runs because the speech model stays loaded.
Is my audio stored anywhere?
No. Audio is kept in memory only until it's transcribed, then discarded. Your dictation history is text, stored on your PC, and you can clear it in Settings.
How does the free trial work?
Talkhawk starts a 14-day Pro trial the first time you open it, with no card and no sign-up. When it ends, dictation stays free and unlimited. Polish, Command Mode, tone, translation and your words need a Pro plan.
Can I cancel Pro?
Yes, any time: email support@talkhawk.app and you won't be charged again. Creem handles payments for Talkhawk.
